Reception areas can be "creative", "impressive" or "functional" while still being cost effective.
An
easy way to accomplish this is to use the same cubicle system that you may use in your open plan area, but with componensts specifically
designed for reception desks. This provides uniformity in design and gives you the flexibility to make future changes as your
needs evolve.
Most desk manufacturers also make add-on components to turn a simple desk configuration into a reception desk.
This applies to "high end" veneer desks as well as the most economical laminate options. In some cases these can be retrofitted
to convert a standard desk to a reception desk.
Many manufacturers have created separate product lines just for reception
areas. These are modular desk components specifically designed for a reception area application that combines the function
and "look" of a custom reception desk installation.
Custom designs are still appropropriate for specific needs and spaces.
In many instances, reception areas are so large, or require specific design requirements that only a custom application is appropriate.
